A Brief History

Completed January 1945 in Historic Balboa Park, The museum was the former chapel of the Naval Hospital on Inspiration Point.

In March 1989 the Veterans Memorial, Inc. was formed to create an institution that honors the men and women who serve in every branch of the United States armed forces. The chapel was chosen as the museums location due to the sites historic and military significance.

The Museum houses a unique collection of artifacts, memorabilia & more with exhibits dedicated to veterans of every U.S. Military conflict.
